    Bachelor’s Degree Duration and Intakes

    An honours bachelor’s degree in Ireland generally takes three or four years to complete and carries between 180 and 240 ECTS credits. Programmes such as architecture, medicine and dentistry may take longer because they include additional academic or clinical training.

    September is the main intake for undergraduate courses in Ireland. It offers the widest selection of universities, programmes and scholarships. January entry is uncommon for full bachelor’s degrees, although a few universities may offer selected courses or foundation pathways.

    Indian students should ideally begin the process 9 to 12 months before their preferred intake. Medicine, dentistry and other competitive programmes may have earlier application deadlines.
